“There is nothing worse than a brilliant image of a fuzzy concept.” -Ansel Adams
This article might annoy some of you. Others might cheer.
I’m tired of photos of park benches. No, not ones with people sitting in them. I mean plain old regular park benches like you find in — well — parks and at bus stops.
What do people do? Walk by on their way to the Eiffel Tower and think “Ah, screw the landmark. I’ll take a picture of this park bench. Never mind that it looks like every other park bench. It needs to be memorialized.” So they wait for the glorious blonde or tragically wrinkled old man to move and then they take a picture of an empty park bench.
OK, now that you have read my rant, you have a chance for revenge. If you have a picture of a park bench that you are particularly fond of, include a link to it in the comments. Punish me.
