A love story which has nothing to do with a guy ! Or ?

Well it was certainly love at first sight on my part ! But I think it was slow growing on “it’s” part .
We always had cameras at home Kodak Instamatic and 110 etc.. . One of my uncles went on these amazing trips all over Europe with my favorite aunt and had always a slid show about each trip at his house I felt like being at the theater ! One Christmas I got a small slide viewer form them I was in heaven , I could see the photos over and over again and dreamed about being on a adventure all over the world !
That was the time I started to see (I was 6 years old)

that there was more out there then just our little country called Switzerland , I was sure I had to travel the world!
As I got older I grabbed the camera and snapped some pic’s of the family .I started to love it and couldn’t wait to get the film back from the lab and had fun organising themphotos in albums
I worked at a electronic store and learned some more about the tech stuff of photography and on my 20 ‘s B-day I got my first SLR camera a Minolta . And there I fell in love !
By boyfriend didn’t mind he was in a lot of photos I shot at the time .
1996 I came to Canada with my love the Minolta put minus my boyfriend .I shot what ever I saw looked interesting including my now husband .We got married 7 month later in beautiful Key West FL. and of course the wedding was shot with my lovely Minolta !
When our first born Dylan was about 3, we were at a playground, I took the Minolta with me to take some photos of him. I used the same bag as the camera to but his juice bottle in oops bad idea as I found out soon.
We got home and the camera was totally trenched in juice "Ouch "that was the end of my first love !
I couldn’t repair it and had no money to buy a new SLR so I settled for a Pentax 35mm fully automatic .It worked pretty good I shot every baby picture with it ,2 more babies that is !
I did buy a few digital cameras after the Pentax started to go down.
I even had a Nikon D40 a few years ago .But had always trouble with the tech stuff ,I am not very smart you see. In 2008 I found a couple of Polaroid cameras ( 600 and a Joycam) a japanese student left behind ,we were hosting a few years ago.I checked if there was any film available I was in luck our drugstore still sold it ! The kids love taken pictures with it .
But then last year that fun was over no more Polaroid film .

This spring I cleaned house I want it to give the Polaroids away but I checked one more time for film on the Internet ,that’s how I found the Impossible Project site and bought film right away .Through my Flickr page I had set up for my pottery business ,I found Lomography .
Of Course when you get to the Lomo site for the first time your hooked and I had to buy a Supersampler , a Diana , Holga etc.

Great story. I would have loved to use an instamatic camera back in the day. Your pictures are great.
