Problems with La Sardina NUMBER TWO!!!

Yes, I'm on my second La Sardina after getting two blank rolls from the first. What is wrong with me? Or is it the cameras?

I still can’t get the shutter to open when trying to take a photograph, unless I slide the little button to “B” mode and back to “N” (Or to “MX” and back to “N”) first and this is for each and ever photo.

Is this normal?

The lens is fully extended and locked open, I’ve made sure of it a million times.

I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong. Or is it the cheaper quality of these cameras that I keep getting duds?

I think it is the cheap quality. My Sardina shoots a lot of blanks (blacks), but never a entire roll. Sometimes it winds two or three frames before coming to a stop. When that happens I rewind it. Entire rolls of unexposed pics is not acceptable. I can live with a few of them on roll.

HI Dolly. I had this same problem and found out that I simply wasn't twisting the lens FULLY into a locked position. I was twisting it until it felt like it was turned all the way into the locked position...but if you don't feel it CLICK into the lock, it will not take pictures. This may or may not be your problem...but I was ready to chuck the camera out and then discovered the CLICK and all my problems went away. Hope that helps. Good luck.

The first la Sardina I got was one of the metal belle star ones, and I have never had a problem with it, But I have yet to put a film in my plastic DIY la sardina. I have had a defective octomat, that didn't wind the film on at all. The only advice I can give is to take the back off and look though the lens and click the shutter, to see if it is actually opening, or to see if there is something occluding the inside of the camera, other than that it may have to go back again.

Thank you @gauthierdumonde @tracyvmoore @asharnanae and @rik041 for your help and thoughts on this. I think I'm going to give the La Sardina one more shot, if it fails me completely again I'll either get a replacement or call it a day with this camera. I wouldn't mind if I just get a few blank shots in a roll, that would at least give me some for the money I spend getting them processed.
Anyway, I have many other shiny cameras I could be using : )
    Thanks again
    Dolly.
