La Sardina problems - a blank film returned??

Mobius is feeling poorly : ( and I don't know how to fix him.

The problem seems to be the shutter release button, it’s just not opening the shutter. There’s no definite “click” when it’s pressed, something I noticed through the entire film I shot, but shrugged off.

From what I understand your supposed to open the lens and turn it until it locks again, so that the two dots are horizontally in line? Well mine don’t turn that far, perhaps this is a problem? and the reason the shutter won’t open? If so, how do I go about fixing the problem?

I’ve emailed Customer Services at Lomo today, as I bought the camera on here in March this year… but I’ve had no reply yet.

Help?!?

So disappointed that my first film turned out blank : (

A bit more info: The shutter button is clicking when I slide it to MX but when I look in the back of the camera, I don't see the shutter open at all. Does this mean the shutter/shutter button is broken?

your lens barrel should really be totally locked out and be aligned with a new click... I think the shutter doesn't open if the lens is not properly and completely out...

Well after playing about with it again, I fill managed to turn the lens until it clicked! But that was way harder than it should have been, I honestly thought I was going to break it with the amount of force I had to use. Oh well, ready to shoot now : ) Thanks guys!

La Sardina isn't the best made camera. You have to turn the barrel quite hard to align it, you never or nearly hear the shutter when in a city or something. Half of my last Sardina film returned blank. So the shutter does not always fire, or I did not turn the lens barrel far enough... When I mail customer service (had to do it twice yet) I have always a reply the next day. They always want you to send the camera back and I hate that.

I was really really over careful with my belle-star when I first got it, I didn't wan't to break it, as we have all said. After being stiff the first time I opened it out, it now it works fine, but yes you do need to make sure the barrel id fully engaged.

Just got my first roll back with this camera today and only one picture out of the entire roll came out so I was pretty disappointed. I know I had the lens cap off and the lens barrel out where it should be but I wasn't hearing the the shutter button click either. I'll try another roll of film but if the next one is also bad, I may have to banish this camera to the closet for awhile which would make me sad as I was excited to use this camera. :(
