I dedicate my first blog entry to mephisto19, who kept reminding me to write about this. ;)

When my analogue obsession began and it became a habit to always carry at least one camera with me, I started taking pictures of people at the train station near my place. I always used to watch the people there and be kinda fascinated or annoyed by what they’re doing to kill the 10 to 15 minutes waiting for the next train. So one day I thought….hmm…why not take a picture?

I actually thought about doing a photo series and take a lot of pictures of this spot at different times. But somehow I’ve neglected this idea for a long time now. Hopefully this blog entry gets me into it again.

It just fascinates me how everyone has his own way to kill time. You can read a book or a magazine, listen to music, chat with someone, text someone, talk on the cell phone, talk too loud on the cell phone so everyone in the station can hear what you’re talking about, pick your nose, eat something, guard your bags, sit/stand there/walk around and think about something…

I’m the listening-to-music-type, sometimes I read a book or take pictures. But most often I’m too late, missed the last train, constantly look in the direction where the train is coming from and hope it will come every second although I know the next one is coming in 15 minutes.

And what do you do while you wait?

i would like to see more pictures of this spot ! i like them very much :).
i go often by train so i have to wait often too.
i do many different things from 'listening to music' and 'keeping an eye on pigeons and other animals' to 'dancing along the platform' (;.

This is a really cool idea! You should make a film out of those pictures after you've got more, with some cool music :)

    nice article!
I'm the one who takes out the cell phone for no obvious reason just to do something. Then I stare at it, put it back in my bag and look for my ipod, hoping so badly that i didn't forget it. if i didn't, then I'll listen to music, if I did, I look at everybody angrily.

I hope you continue this series - it is great!
I am the listening to music type too. At the open stations of the S45 (I am sometimes waiting at "Breitensee") I look at the things lying between the tracks -the things people throw away- and I love to watch the plants which are growing there.
