Falling In Love With The LC-A 120

There are quite a few perks that come with working for a film photography company, and the best perk of all is testing out the latest cameras. I can remember buying my LC-A back in 2009 and being really inspired to shoot film again. When the LC-A 120 came along, I couldn't wait to try it out around London. Join me as I test out this super medium format beauty.

Holga 120 N camera with Ilford Delta 3200 pushed one stop when developing. I had a Pocket Wizard on the hot shoe of the Holga control one Alien Bee B800 with a medium sized Octobox (basically one studio light). It really was a blast controlling a studio light with a Holga!

I was anxious to play with the camera so I got a little cocky with my hand-holding skills on this one. :D But, it was fun to shoot.

    Shanghai World Financial Center

  • Edificio Itália

    shared by wil6ka on 2009-07-21

While Rio de Janeiro is the sunny shiny magnate for tourists Sao Paulo is rather a financial and business center for the upcoming state of Brazil. That means that some museums only have displays in poruguese and it’s rather hard to find a decent postcard. But the magic of Sao Paulo happens behind doors, in the families, at restaurants, concerts and on the roof. Especially on one roof, on top of Edificio Italia, where you have the grandest view of a metropolis you could ever imagine . The building Italy, as you can translate it, ist he second largest building in town. I wonder what offices are all stuffed into these 44 floors. As I know of at least the Circolo Italiano Foundation, which is something like the Bitish Council or the Centre Culturel Français . And there is a restaurant on the top floor, which you will steer to straight away. Because on its platform you can go on a roundabout terace for taking pictures. There is a „happy hour“ around 4 o'clock midday in which you can access the terrace for free. Elsewhise you gotta pay, if I remember right 15 reais, which is about 6 Euro, quite reasonable. And interesting enough it is not a major touristy spot, Alongside to me there were only two couples taking pictures, so it’s a very worthwile place to discover. I spent quite some time up there, waiting for the light to come and go. For trying various cameras and films and just watching the scenery. Sometimes you see some helicopters passing by. Which is a common mean of transport for the upper class. Arguably but comprehensible, it is surely safer for the rich not to cross through streets on their way home. And seeing such an landscape everday on your way to work is truely worth the fortune you are spending on it. You can also see pools on top of skyscrapers and the world famous Edifico Copan by Oskar Niemeyer. There are buses going the Italian building, but it surely is a good choice to take a taxi-cab from a crossing point of the public transport.
