Oh, so you think you've got a pretty cool camera shelf? C'mon then, let's see it...!

You might recognise this because, thanks to you guys, it’s currently the second most popular shot in my home, and also featured in my article Buckshot's Lomolphabet.

For info, those cameras on my shelf are a Lubitel 166B, a Diana F+ ‘El Toro’, a Diana F+ ‘Tori Amos’ and a Nikon F50. Not shown in this shot is the Pentax P50 I used to take it with. So yes, my shelf is pretty humble, actually.

Now let’s see yours…!

Every time I visit a Lomographer’s profile page, I scan their ‘Camera Shelf’ section to see what kind of gear they’ve got. It’s gotta be said, many of you have got a seriously impressive shelf, with a long list of obscure and wacky cameras that I read with respect – and yes, a healthy dose of jealousy too ;-) But hey, I would much rather actually see those glorious cameras than just read a list of their names, wouldn’t you…? I mean, I don’t know what the hell a Zeiss Ikon Box Tengor 54 looks like, do you? OK, so @gauthierdumonde does, ‘cos he’s got one. (But he’s Belgian and weird, so he doesn’t count – only kidding, my friend! :-)

So c’mon, show us your treasures: line up all your cameras and accessories – yes, all of them, whether it’s 5 or 50 – on a shelf in your apartment, house, garden shed, houseboat, igloo, yurt, cardboard box or wherever the hell it is you crazy cats live, take a shot of them, upload the shot to your home and post a link to it in the comments below so we can see those beauties. (And then I can go away and sit quietly in a corner with a bottle of Stolichnaya and cry like a girl because my own shelf is so pathetic in comparison – Sniff!)

I’m waiting with great anticipation, friends… ;-)

Hey, your shelf isn't pathetic at all! :) My own is bare by comparison, but I need an updated shot since I now have a Pentax Auto 110 in my collection. The folding camera is a Voigtlander Bessa 1937, still waiting on some shots to be processed.

@samwise_camus: Thanks for joining in! Your shelf is very interesting, and it looks like we have a few things in common: Nikons, Dianas, guitars (I have four myself) and I love Patti Smith, Kerouac and Vonnegut too! Thanks again for sharing!

I will shoot my shelf... and I will use my wife's camera, so all my cams will be on the shelf except one that still has to arrive next week. It is the last camera I buy for at least a year. I am virtually bankrupt. Ooh, not all my cams will be one my shelf because some are in the secondhand shop waiting for a buyer. Technically they are still mine. I have I rule that every camera I own must be used. Some of them I don't use a lot, or nearly never, that's when I sell them. So my Nikon F80 and Horizon Kompakt are not on my shelf anymore.

@stratski: thanks for joining in too - and with such an impressive entry! I can see a pattern developing here... there are some of us who have a mere 'shelf' and others with a whole staircase...! Man, I need to start buying more cameras... ;-)

I don't have a picture on here but I uploaded it somewhere else. Note: Two cameras plus 2 Polaroids are not on the picture. Also, most of the CN films are in a box and not on the shelf because I rarely use them :)

@permafrost: That's a great stash of films you have there - especially the Elite chrome (lucky you!). I never tried the K1000, but I started photography (in the 1980s) with two Pentax cameras too: a Programme A and a P50. They're great cameras for learning all you need to know about manual work, in my opinion.

This is great, but I might have to use a digital so that all my analog cameras are in the shot!
