Yesterday I was close to Hildesheim and I picked up my little brother to a football-friend. His father proudly showed me his camera. Some monstrous SLR with a telephoto lens that was about 0.5 m long. I was impressed by the size, but when I saw photos that made this camera, I was disappointed.
This camera doesn’t transmit that “certain something”. The resolution is extremely high and you can see every detail, every little wrinkle and every gray hair.
Is this what you want to see on a photo?
I do not want it and I think many of you either!
Since I started with lomography about 5 months ago, it’s important for me that the feeling will be sent in the photos – the feeling of the moment in which this photo was taken.
I don’t want to show the person detail how she looks, but the feeling that prevailed, as the camera has made ‘click’. With this you can better remember a moment and feel it. Everyone feels something different, for example when you see a photo like this:
I think zeester, shoujoai, mephisto19 and other lomographs can remember this day. It was cold but as we sat together in the cafe Konrad it was warm and hearty.
Back to the proud father and owner of an SLR, I pretended I was impressed about his camera, but in my head I laughed a bit, because I knew that you and I make more beautiful and emotional pictures!!!
Lomo on! ♥
