Beer, Wine, Dogs and Sean!

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Lomography,

My boyfriend of almost four years, Sean, is currently on a sailboat race across Lake Superior and I would LOVE to surprise him with a dream date upon his return! Here’s how it would go:

We’d leave on a Saturday morning with our dogs from Saint Paul to New Ulm. Once we’re out of the city suburbs, it will be a beautiful drive all the way to the historic downtown area.

Next, we’d rush over to Schell’s Brewery to take a tour and sample some of their fine brews. Schell’s is one of our favorite breweries, so it would be a real treat to see the place in action!

After that, we’d head on over to Morgan Creek Vineyard for a tour and tasting. Sean isn’t so much of a wine fan, but this place is cool because it’s the only underground winery in Minnesota.

If we’re not too tipsy, we’d take some time to explore the historic downtown and many parks that New Ulm has to offer. We’d both feel right at home here because both of our families have strong ties to our German heritage.

For dinner, we’d go to Veigel’s Kaiserhoff for some traditional German food.

And finally, tired and full of beer, wine and food, we’d head on back to our hotel to hang out with the dogs and watch cable tv. The next day, we’d enjoy the hotel’s free breakfast and maybe take a dip in the pool. Then it’s back home to Saint Paul.

So, what will this cost? $250 of course!
$50 for gas (round trip)
$6 for two admissions to the Schell’s Brewery tour
$14 for two admissions to the winery tour and tasting
$62 for dinner at Veigel’s Kaiserhoff
$118 for hotel (including the fee for two dogs)

My dear Lomography judges, please help me make this dream date come true!

Yours truly,
Brenda
