I too just got the instant back, and at first had the same problem. All white means its very over exposed. All Black means very underexposed. I found that outside on a sunny day, I put the aperture to the sunny setting, and the shutter on N, and I got a reasonable photo. Indoors I used the flash, N, sunny or cloudy setting, and both times got ok photos. But you don't have to go to far either way with the exposure to get mostly black or mostly white. I used a pack of 10 just experimenting to see what effects happened with the settings.
