Photo Stories: Police on My Back by bloomchen

Sometimes when taking pictures I get addressed by strangers either because of my cameras or because they don't want me to shoot something they claim they have responsibility for. But having the police on my back was a new experience.

My Analogue Bucket List: Faster Than a Speeding Cannonball

The new year is still young, but it seems as if it'll be over quickly. My organizer is already filled with entries until June. 2015 will probably be worse than 2014 when it comes to having time off so I could take some analogue shots. Anyway, there are some photography-related things that I really want to get done. It is probably best to set some goals if I only have very limited time.

Lomographic Milestones: It All Started 17 Years Ago

We've had 20 years of Lomography, and I've been a part of the movement for almost 17 years. But, I said "almost" because I had long breaks in between. Anyway, I think it's time to look back at those old pictures from the beginning. I have to admit I never made an effort to scan all my old pictures, but there are still a few of them. I think it's worth it to have a look at them.

Picturing Style: It's How We Rock It!

There are many things out there that are supposed to be fashionable items but look straight up ugly. Being a sneaker addict myself and having had finished my studies at a university on this subject, I know one thing: Jorge "Popmaster Fabel" Pabon of the Rocksteady Crew was right when he said, "It isn't what we wear, it's how we rock it!"

2012: A Year of Analogue Passion

This last year was my first full year in this great community. I got in touch with very nice and interesting people around the globe and I saw many many great pictures which in fact wasn´t helpful for my bank account. I was really inspired by a lot of shots you took and so I badly had to buy this and that and try this or that. But thanks a lot for the input. Here, I want to show you my favorite shots of the last 12 months, one for each month, which is pretty hard to choose. You won't miss my best failures too, and the ones I like from the best of the community.

The Fuji Chrome T64 120 Color Explosion

With the Fuji T64 120 (Tungsten) film your pictures might get a great colour explosion, but you have to choose your subjects wisely. Otherwise, you will probably wonder about pale pictures like I did. As this is a great film, you should take care to achieve those great popping colours you aim for. Read on after the jump!

This is a review of the camera used for week 3 of the "30 Weeks, 30 Cams" series. The camera a, Revueflex-B, is nothing but a Zenit-B sold by a German department store chain under another name. Read on how I got this SLR camera produced in Russia and how it handles.

    30 Weeks, 30 Cams: Week 2, Minox 35 EL

After testing the Ilford Sportsman 300S in week 1 and being pretty satified with it, I tested the Minox 35 EL I got for €2.49 from eBay in week 2. This one I got from eBay too, but I paid more for it. I didn´t know anything about it but I noticed it the first time bccbarbosa had some nice shots uploaded, taken using one of the tiny Minox 35 series. That was my motivation to buy it.

Winter Dream from New Genre Artist Sonja Hinrichsen - Pictures by Cedar Beauregard

The boys among you: do you remember peeing your name into the snow? Or leaving an angel in the snow? New genre artist Sonja Hinrichsen did not forget and used the landscape in the mountains of Colorado as a canvas to do give a large-scale pattern and put it on another level. The pictures were taken by Cedar Beauregard who runs a business for aerial photography and video. It's both amazing: the work by Sonja Hinrichsen and the perspective Beauregard offers.

Memorable Mixtapes for My Girlfriend from 1998

I've always been into music since I was a little boy. I grew up with the vinyl collection of my oldest brother which means I listened to Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac at the age of about 4 or 5. At our home, it was always Open Home. Friends of my brother were there all day, relatives came very often to visit us, and my mother took care of kids from the village of the formerly so called "Gastarbeiter" (immigrant workers). So if I wanted to be by myself, my brother allowed me to stay in his room and listen to his records. And so I did. I got to know a lot of music back in the days when cars only had cassette decks. That´s why I got a proud collection of many many mixtapes through the all years. Let me tell you about a one from 1998.

Travel Back in Time and Get a Village Feeling!

Not too far away from the Schwabenmetropole Stuttgart in the south of Germany are a few small villages you might want to visit because you can travel back in time. Some places there haven't changed since the 70s. I know because I grew up there. It's only 15 minutes by car from the airport of Stuttgart and while you're at it: visit the incredible butcher there, get some great Schnaps from a more than 100-year-old family business or if you have the money, have dinner in one of the best restaurants of the whole country! But that's not my opinion because I haven't been there, I just read that from a gourmet guide.

I Love Watching People Doing Their Work

I claim: you can´t get more authenticity than with people at work! I guess a lot of poeple can´t think of stepping into a store, bakery, coiffeur or whatever, take out their camera and ask if they can take a few pictures. But you being an (silent) observer ensures you getting authenticity and you decide the moment which is worth being captured - not the right facial expression you need to quick pull the trigger.
