New Camera Time At Last!

So, I got my Lubitel last year…… and just didn’t have the time or occasion to get it out and use it! The last school term was an incredibly busy one, and I was dogged by illness/fatigue for most of january and February.

Anyway, Being that it’s now the two week easter break, we went off to one of the English Heritage sites near our neck of the woods, Wrest Park Stately Home and Gardens. It was a wonderful place, lots to photograph, and amazing gardens to walk around. Even more amazing, the army of grounds staff are all unpaid volunteers but two! Yikes, there must have been 25 at least, scurrying around.

It took me a bit of time to get to grips with loading the film n’ such, but once that was out of the way I had a great time experimenting with films and exposures. Oddly enough I had the hardest time framing my shots when I wanted either dead level or at 45 degrees…. I can see I will have to learn the ways of the top down viewfinder until it’s as intuitive as the normal ‘hold to your eye’ ones.

This batch of films was also the first time I processed Fuji T64 slide film with E6 chems to actual slides, and not cross processed in C41. While I love the Vivid Purple/Blue of the xpro’ed version, I also like this subtler pale Cyan’y blue tone world as well.

So overall the day went rather well. Hurrah! Cream Teas all round :D
