The Reason for the Trip and Some Student Fans at Main Gate

Doing one of my many trips thru Ann Arbor, I saw a great looking fire hydrant in front of The University of Michigan Football Stadium, aka The Big House. I thought the most interesting time to go back and photograph it would be during a home game with all the fans dressed in their Maize and Blue. The Big House is the largest Stadium in the US and the third largest in the world. Officially seating 109,901 but two weeks earlier set a new attendance record at 115,109 during a game with long time rivals Notre Dame. Kitty-corner from The Big House is the high school I graduated from more than 20 years ago, Pioneer High School, aka Pi Hi. It is in Pi Hi's oversize parking lots and grassy areas that most of the pregame tailgate parties happen. RVs start pulling in Thursday night before the Saturday games. Ask any of these fans, It's all a very big deal. Me, I don't care for all the hype given to college sports.
