stripes I (clean)
I wanted to experiment, do something very minimal, the first four are variations on this simple landscape, I focussed some, for the viewer to absorb the detail, the texture, then others I threw out of focus to allow the viewer to focus purely on the colours.

@mrmostarr not at all! I took this one http://www.lomograph(…)os/15669448 last year, and looking at it thought wouldn't it be wonderful (my poor wife aside) if the person wasn't in it. The went back this year to reshoot!

@mrmostarr I can guarantee no photoshopping here. Just the magic of a Lubitel and a carefully formed idea. I was aware of the Gursky, perhaps it weedled its way into my subconscious. I didn't know he'd removed things from it though. That's disappointing, I feel a bit let down by that. Mine (therefore) is better. Anyone want to buy a print? Bids starting at $2 million?!!?

I too had no idea that gursky photoshoped to that extent.... how disappointing. I can definitely see the appeal of wanting to retake your own shot though. I have a leaning towards people-less shots myself. Your landscape is visually more enticing, warmer in emotion than gurskys. When I look at your shot it feels like I am the first person to come upon the scene shown, it's minimalist/abstracted yet retains intimacy. Gurskys, while more 'perfectly' abstracted, has a sort of dead quality emotionally, it does not make me feel I want to go there, that I am connected to the space. Yours does. :)

@asharnanae thanks so much for the feedback, my cheeks are glowing! You wouldn't believe what is around that scene, it's right next to a kids playground. It's lively and noisy and over that bank is the sea! I love photography for its ability to completely change the context of something like that.
