Scanning is horrid...

Scanning is horrid because:

1) It takes too long.
2) If you don’t scan every frame individually the scanner averages all the frames against each other
3) Which makes dark shots bland and
4) Light shots look murky
5) My scanner software tries to correct xpro stuff so whilst others get wonderful blues and purples my scans look like slides
6) And here in NZ getting a lab to do it costs too much
7) And we have no official Lomography store.

Rant over. Goodnight.

I feel your pain... Especially half frame pictures like from the Diana Mini take forever and then some. And about the xpro pics: Yes! How the hell do they do that!

My biggest gripe with my scanner is keeping the dust out. I feel like a dust storm blows up every time I sit down to scan. Labs do seem to charge way to much to do it. and forget it if you have redscale.

@neanderthalis so true. I've got a method though, I wear glasses so always have a cleaning cloth on my desk, I wipe the platen every time I put negs into it. Seems to work well. Most of my scans are dust free.

@stratski OMG yeah. I recently acquired an Olympus PEN EE. 48 shots in one set to scan and of course the scanner can only 'see' 35mm regular so you have to reset the scan frame thing for each, single, shot. Argh!
