The human eye can see approximately 7,000,000 colors. Aside from pleasing and enriching your visual life, these myriad colors can have all manner of powerful physical effects. Look closely - some colors can cause headaches, some can suppress your appetite, some can make even the strongest lomographer weak, and some can cause others to (literally and figuratively) "see red." Over 4 million independent studies have attempted to define and reveal the countless influences that colors can have on our lives. Forget them! You don't need a doctorate in physiology to feel the power and magic of colors for yourselves. Allow us to show you the following little examples.

Your mind or your eye?
Do you believe that the power of simple colors can overcome your highly developed ability to reason? Then look closely below and say the COLOR of each word, not the word itself.

Piece of cake or hard to swallow? Are you still the boss of your tongue or not! The right side of your brain sees the visual color of the word, thereby perceiving YELLOW (uppermost left) to be "green." The left side of your brain sees the word itself, thereby seeing "YELLOW" as "yellow." This list is difficult to process as the influence of color vs. text causes a minor civil disagreement within your head.

Do you only believe what your eye can see? Optical illusions will tell you differently - and truly prove that there is often "more than meets the eye." Just ask the millions of desert nomads who celebrated the discovery of a new oasis - only to find a dry, sandy, and altogether disappointing mirage.

Experience the thrill of optical illusions with the exercise below.
Place your mouse pointer on the lomo icon in the middle. Focus and concentrate on your mouse pointer for at least 30 seconds. Don't move your eyes. Keep staring at the pointer and the icon. After 60 seconds, click the button and HOLD it down. While the button is depressed, the colored boxes will disappear and you will see the ghostly remnants of different colors.

Following these exercises, you surely must be absolutely desperate to hurl yourself into the world of colors. Use the irresistible, brain-twisting, now-you-see-me-now-you-don't power of the Colorsplash movement to radically change your lomographic thinking, and overhaul your powers of creative photography.
