Bad shoot

We were watching TV in the evening, when a little mouse went through the room to the opened window for taking some fresh air. When I was looking at it, it ran back under the Couch, but some minutes later, it did the same again. I was closing the window, and the mouse was sitting outside, freezing and sniffling in the air. I did not know what to do - should I let it die outside? I first took a picture with the Colorsplash Cam, then opened again. The mouse ran back, and I ordered a mousetrap (for catching it alive and taking more picture before bringing it outside) in the internet. But we never saw the mouse again, and also on the picture there's nothing to see!
