How do I format my Magazine submissions?

Take a look at these tips and tricks so you could (almost) get your posts to look as you want formatted for all your Magazine submissions!

Cover Photo

For everything else to work, you first need to upload a cover photo for your Magazine entry submission, otherwise the system will reject your entry. Whatever else follows could be formatted by using our syntax codes listed below.

Including a single image into the blog

Instead of reuploading your images you can can copy the image id´s of our photos url and paste into your blogtext:
Suppose you want to include this photo in a blog post: IMAGE

All you have to do is to add:

Adding a Gallery into the Post

The procedure is nearly the same as for single images – you only need to copy paste more image ID’s and add a simple syntax code!

For example: You have these photos:

  • http://www.lomography.com/photos/132337
  • http://www.lomography.com/photos/133151

You want to have a gallery out of those three photos. All you need to do is to format it this way into the blog text:

The images in the gallery will be displayed in the same order they are listed.

Captions

To give it a subtitle (same for galleries) just add in the very next line:

It will then look like this:

subtitle text

If you don’t want to add a subtitle to your photo please just leave one line blank after the photo link!

Links

If you want to add a link please use double quotation marks and a colon for the link caption followed by the link:

It will display as Lomography

Special Formatting Requests

Got special formatting requests for your Magazine Submissions? Contact the Magazine LomoStaff if you have any specific requests and we’ll attend to them as soon as we can!

And finally…

Q. Will there be a full-blown blog editing function in the future? Like having different colours, fonts, rich media etc. possible on my Magazine entries?

A. We do not have any plans as of the moment implementing this. We’d like to keep things simple and uniform for the website, so it’s easier for everyone’s eyes :)
